The "Journal of STEM Arts, Crafts and Constructions" is a new online, open-access, peer-revised scholarly journal that seeks to engage professionals in a conversation about the benefits of arts integration; the ways that the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) can be integrated with the arts to produce effective teaching (STEAM education); and how the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) can be effectively implemented with integrated arts, crafts or constructions. The journal publishes editorials, practical articles and research articles. The journal originated in a faculty study group on arts integration in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
